More than 3.4 mln Russian passports issued to residents of 4 new regions since they joined Russia in 2022 - Interior Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 30 (Interfax) - Russian Interior Ministry employees have issued almost 3.5 million Russian passports to residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, the Zaporozhye region and the Kherson region since they joined Russia in 2022, Russian Interior Ministry spokesperson Irina Volk said.

"More than 3.4 million Russian passports have been issued," Volk said on her Telegram channel on Monday.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate has provided more than 1.4 million state services associated with issuing Russian national driving licenses and registration of road vehicles over the past two years, she said.

"More than 740,000 licenses have been issued and some 700,000 registrations have been completed," she said.

In addition, employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate conducted more than 130,000 road vehicle driving tests, including 65,000 theory tests and some 67,000 practical tests, she said.

Thirty-two offices of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate that provide state services are working in the new regions, and four of them opened this year.

In addition, 106 migration divisions of Russian Interior Ministry territorial bodies are working in these regions.
