Armenia, Azerbaijan discuss further work on border delimitation

YEREVAN. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev discussed issues relating to the sequence of sections of the borderline for further delimitation work on Friday.

The tenth meeting of the commission on state border delimitation and border security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Commissions on the delimitation of the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, chaired by Grigoryan and Mustafayev, took place at the border between the two countries, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.

"During the meeting, according to Article 7 of the provision on joint activities of the said commissions, which was signed on August 30, 2024, the parties exchanged notices of the fulfilment by their states of intrastate procedures needed for its entry into force. Bearing in mind that Article 7 envisages its entry into force on the day of receipt of the last written notice of the fulfilment of such procedures, the parties stated that this provision takes effect on November 1, 2024," the ministry said.

"The parties exchanged opinions on the sequence of the sites/sections of the border line for further delimitation work," it said.

The parties discussed draft versions of the relevant instructions on the procedures governing delimitation work and reached an agreement to determine the date and venue of the next meeting in the course of work.

After the meeting, Grigoryan and Mustafayev "had a separate discussion on transport communication issues."
