MOSCOW. Nov 2 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led coalition continue to create dangerous situations in the Syrian airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Capt. 1st rank Oleg Ignasyuk said.
"Fifteen violations of the Syrian airspace by coalition aviation, including two pairs of F-15 fighter jets (twice), a pair of Rafale fighter jets (twice), a pair of Typhoon fighter jets, and an MQ-9 reconnaissance and attack drone were recorded in the al-Tanf area over the day," Ignasyuk said at a press briefing on Friday.
As many as 386 violations of the kind were recorded in October 2024, he said.
No violations of the deconfliction protocols dated December 9, 2019, by flights of coalition unmanned aerial vehicles uncoordinated with the Russian side occurred in the past 24 hours, Ignasyuk said, adding that the Russian military recorded 127 violations of the kind in October.
Positions of Syrian government forces came under five attacks by the Jabhat al-Nusra and Turkistan Islamic Party terrorist groups, both banned in Russia, in the Idlib de-escalation area, including two in the Latakia province and three in the Idlib province, in the past 24 hours, he said.
A total of 2,966 persons crossed into Syria from Lebanon via the al-Arida, Al-Jawasiyeh, Al-Dabousiyah, Jasr al-Qamar and Jdaidet Yabous checkpoints over the day.
