MOSCOW. Nov 7 (Interfax) - There are prerequisites for improving the situation in the South Caucasus, however, Western states are hindering that in pursuit of their own interests, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu said.
"As to regional security in the South Caucasus, the situation remains challenging but there are prerequisites for its improvement, which is being hindered by foreign players that pursue unsavory goals, to put it mildly. Above all, these are Western states," Shoigu said at the 12th meeting of Security Council secretaries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members on Thursday.
"This only proves the thesis that regional problems require regional solutions," Shoigu said.
