Putin confirms readiness for strategic stability talks with U.S. without double standards

SOCHI. Nov 7 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he is awaiting proposals from the future U.S. administration regarding strategic stability negotiations, noting that the White House has recently replied with silence to such proposals from the Kremlin.

"We shall see how the future administration will formulate its proposals, if it does it at all, on this score," Putin said at a plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club on Thursday.

"Let's talk about it with open cards, calmly, in a businesslike manner, without double, triple, or quintuple standards," he said. "By the way, this is what we have proposed repeatedly. But when we begin to talk about it in substance, there is a pause there [in the U.S.] right away," Putin said.
