MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Kiev has rejected Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's proposals for talks in a rude manner, unlike Russia, which is open to them, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"We see that Zelensky has started to be rude to Orban. Frankly speaking, everything can be expected from the Kiev regime, but once again this probably demonstrates not only the dangerous and criminal nature of this regime, but also its extreme lack of culture," Peskov said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 (VGTRK) television channel.
Peskov said Kiev had indeed declined to back the Hungarian prime minister's efforts, unlike Russian President Vladimir Putin did. "On the contrary, Putin supported them, Putin himself talked about it. The subject is hanging in the air, and the situation is not changing here. The Kiev regime does not want any negotiations, rejects them, and so far has not shown any desire to change that legal ban for itself to negotiate," Peskov said.
"Therefore, the situation is static here. At the same time, President Putin has reiterated many times that Russia is open for talks, it is talks that would be the preferred way for us to achieve our goals," he went on to say.
Peskov said that as the Kiev regime was rejecting any negotiations, Russia is carrying out its own special military operation until all of the goals are achieved.
