MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian forces lost more than 225 troops in the Kursk sector over the past 24 hours, the enemy has lost more than 42,100 people there since the start of the hostilities, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian forces lost more than 225 troops, one tank, three infantry fighting vehicles, five armored fighting vehicles, two road vehicles, a Polish-made Krab 155 mm artillery installation, a 2S1 Gvozdika 122 mm self-propelled artillery installation, three D-30 122 mm howitzers, and a field ammo depot," the ministry said in a statement.
The enemy has lost more than 42,100 troops in the Kursk sector since the start of the hostilities, the statement said.
According to the Defense Ministry information, "units of the northern group of forces during offensive actions hit formations of a heavy mechanized brigade, six mechanized brigades, two air assault brigades, and a territorial defense brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Basovka, Viktorovka, Daryino, Kositsa, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Mirny, Melovoy, and Sverdlikovo."
"Two counterattacks by the enemy's assault groups were rebuffed," the statement said.
Operational-tactical aircraft, army aircraft and artillery hit the enemy's personnel and hardware near Gornal, Guyevo, Kurilovka, Maryevka, Makhnovka, Novoivanovka, Orlovka, Pogrebki, Rubanshchina, and also Belovody, Veselovka, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Miropolye and Novenkoye in the Sumy region, the Russian Defense Minsitry said.
Since the start of the fighting in the Kursk sector, the enemy has lost 245 tanks, 187 IFVs, 127 armored transport vehicles, 1,288 armored fighting vehicles, 1,154 road vehicles, 323 artillery weapons, 42 MLRS, 13 surface-to-air missile launch systems, seven reloading vehicles, 75 electronic warfare stations, 13 counter-battery radars, four air defense radars, engineering and other equipment, the ministry said.
