Armenian Defense Ministry says signs 2025 cooperation plan with Greece, Cyprus

YEREVAN. Dec 20 (Interfax) - Armenia has signed a bilateral cooperation program for 2025 with Greece, alongside a trilateral cooperation program with Greece and Cyprus, after consultations in Athens, the programs envisage several dozen projects in various areas of activity of the Armed Forces, the Armenian Defense Ministry's press service said.

"Athens hosted bilateral defense consultations between Armenia and Greece and trilateral consultations between Armenia, Greece and Cyprus on December 19. Head of the Defense Policy and International Cooperation Department Levon Ayvazyan took part in the consultations on behalf of the Armenian Defense Ministry. The consultations addressed results of defense cooperation in 2024 and plans for 2025," the press service said.

The sides noted considerable qualitative and quantitative progress in cooperation, including important areas that require longer, systemic work, it said.

"The implementation of new approaches and standards in defense were also discussed. Ayvazyan briefed the counterparts on the process of the Armenian Army's transformation and underlined the input of the Greek and Cypriot partners, including training of various branches of the Armed Forces, military education, drills and exercises, exchange of practices, consultations and other aspects," the press service said.
