Russian forces hold electronic warfare exercise in Kaliningrad region

MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Electronic warfare units have practiced protecting military facilities from drones in the Kaliningrad region, the Baltic Fleet press service said on Thursday.

"During routine drills, the servicemen used standard equipment to march to designated areas and achieved a set of tasks to take positions and deploy electronic warfare systems," the press service said in a statement.

The servicemen practiced detecting the radiation environment, direction finding, analyzing the detected sources of electronic warfare, and taking electronic countermeasures.

"The combat exercise involved over 50 servicemen and about 10 pieces of military and special hardware," the press service said.

The units also practiced using "anti-drone" guns, the Baltic Sea Fleet said.
