Russian Defense Ministry: Central group of forces continues offensive after taking control of Dachenskoye in DPR (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Jan 10 (Interfax) - The Russian central group of forces continued moving deeper into Ukrainian defense lines after taking control of Dachenskoye, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Units from the central group of forces continued moving deeper into enemy defense lines," the ministry said.

Earlier, Russian forces took control of Dachenskoye in the DPR, it said.

The central group of forces struck detachments of seven mechanized brigades, two motorized infantry brigades, a jaeger brigade and two airmobile brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in addition to a marine brigade, two territorial defense brigades, a National Guard brigade, and a National Police brigade, and thwarted 94 attempts of Ukrainian forces to regain lost ground, the ministry said.

Ukrainian forces lost over 3,485 troops, 11 tanks, 40 armored combat vehicles, seven armored personnel carriers, and two armored vehicles over the week. Forty-one trucks and 34 artillery systems were destroyed, it said.
