MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Rostec's High Precision Systems has supplied this year's first batch of BMP-3 infantry vehicles to Russian forces, the company's press service said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The standard configuration of the new vehicles, supplied under the state defense order, includes advanced protective systems, which have proven their value in real combat," it said.
All vehicles passed full tests. BMP-3 has a powerful system of weapons and an automated fire control system, it said.
The plant specializing in production of BMP-3 operates six days a week, including 24/7 operation of certain workshops, the press service said.
According to official information, BMP-3 is designed to transport troops, provide fire support, and eliminate enemy troops, anti-tank systems, tanks, lightly armored vehicles, and low-speed aerial targets.
In August 2024, Kurganmashzavod, part of the High Precision Systems holding, presented BMP-3 with improved mobility and protection characteristics at the Army military-technical forum.
