Putin appoints Salyukov deputy secretary of Russian Security Council (Part 2)

MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Oleg Salyukov deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council.

"Oleg Leonidovich Salyukov shall be appointed deputy secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, he shall be relieved of his post," the legal information portal reported, citing the Russian president's decree.

Salyukov has been commander-in-chief of the Ground Forces of the Russian Armed Forces since May 2014. His military rank is General of the Army.

The Ground Forces is the most numerous and diverse in terms of weapons and action methods type of the Russian Armed Forces. They comprised motorized infantry and tank forces, missile forces and artillery, air defense forces, reconnaissance units and military units, engineering troops, radiation, chemical and biological protection forces and communication forces.
