MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services is meeting in Dushanbe on Friday, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB)'s public relations center said in a statement.
"During the plenary meeting, Council members will focus on improving the interaction between security services of CIS members in fighting terrorism, religious extremism and cybercrime," the statement said.
Additional measures will be planned to uncover sleeper cells of terrorist and extremist networks in CIS members, and a draft analytical document providing a comprehensive evaluation and forecast of the development of security threats in CIS members will be approved, it said.
"The meeting participants will sum up results of the fulfillment of the CIS program of cooperation in fighting terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism for 2023-2025 in 2024," it said.
Council working bodies will meet to discuss "specific areas of operations," the statement said.
