MOSCOW. May 16 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has had a phone call with National Leader of the Turkmen People and Turkmen Halk Maslahaty (People's Council) Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the Kremlin press service said.
"Vladimir Putin and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow have warmly greeted each other on the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and exchanged opinions on continued development of mutually beneficial relations of strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan," it said.
Berdimuhamedow is currently in Kazan to take part in the Russia - Islamic World international economic forum, it said.
