MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - U.S. President Donald Trump told Russian President Vladimir Putin in a phone call on Monday that prospects of U.S.-Russian relations after the Ukraine conflict is settled are impressive, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.
"The presidents talked in much detail about the future of our relations in their conversation, with President Trump having spoken quite emotionally about the prospects of these relations. He repeatedly stressed that he favored mutually respectful and mutually beneficial relations with Russia, given its role in the world and its economic position," Ushakov said.
"And he specifically stressed that the prospects of our bilateral relations after the Ukrainian conflict is settled look impressive," he said.
"U.S. President Donald Trump sees Russia as one of important trading and economic partners for the U.S.," Ushakov said.
