Starmer reaffirms support for Ukrainian stance at talks with Russia - PM's office

LONDON. May 21 (Interfax) - British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reaffirmed in a phone call with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that he is ready to continue supporting and assisting Ukraine, including at negotiations with Russia, Starmer's office said in a statement.

"Looking ahead to further peace talks, the Prime Minister reiterated the UK's support for Ukraine and said he was steadfast in his commitment to helping Ukraine secure a just and lasting peace," the statement said.

The sides discussed the latest British sanctions against Russia and agreed "it was vital to keep the pressure on Russia," the statement said.

As reported, the United Kingdom expanded anti-Russian sanctions by imposing restrictions on 20 persons and 62 entities on Tuesday.
