MOSCOW. May 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Kursk Nuclear Power Plant 2 under construction during his trip to the Kursk region on Tuesday, the Kremlin press service said.
"Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting with the heads of municipalities in Kursk region in Kurchatov. He also visited Kursk NPP 2 under construction," a statement published on the Kremlin website on Wednesday said.
Additionally, Putin met with members of volunteer organizations and acting Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein during the trip, it said.
"I know that you have lots of other questions," Putin told Khinshtein and invited him to his vehicle. "We'll talk on the way," he said.
Then, Putin headed to Kursk NPP 2. A video of the visit to the nuclear power plant shows that Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was accompanying Putin.
