MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - The director of the Black Sea Fleet Ship Maintenance Plant has been placed under house arrest on counts of conspiring to embezzle 4 million rubles in the fulfillment of a state defense order, the Russian Investigative Committee's Main Military Investigative Department said in a statement on Telegram.
"A criminal case against Black Sea Fleet Ship Maintenance Plant Director Pavel Flori is being investigated. He is charged with committing a major fraud in the fulfillment of a state defense order," the statement said.
While fulfilling the state defense order in February 2023, "the Black Sea Fleet Ship Maintenance Plant concluded a multi-million contract with an individual entrepreneur for the delivery of equipment," it said.
"Flori was tasked with monitoring the fulfillment of the contract. In September-November 2023, Flori and the individual entrepreneur's personnel embezzled public funds totaling over 4 million rubles and split the money," the statement said.
"Flori testified about circumstances of the crime" during questioning, it said.
"A court placed Flori under house arrest on an investigator's motion," the statement said.
