MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - While meeting with his counterparts at a Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Minsk on June 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin will propose holding a traditional informal meeting of the CIS leaders in St. Petersburg at the end of December, during which a regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council could also be arranged, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.
"As per tradition, our president will propose that all leaders of the CIS countries gather for an information friendly New Year's meeting in St. Petersburg at the end of December," Ushakov told journalists on Wednesday.
Russia "will propose this option and see how the leaders respond to that," he said.
"As a rule, as per tradition, they gather at the very end of December and have quite a useful and candid discussion on all issues concerning the CIS countries. A regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is also possible," he said.
