Decision on militant Chitigov's body to be decided later - prosecutor

GROZNY. March 24 (Interfax-AVN) - An ultimate decision on handing over the body of Chechen field commander Rizvan Chitigov, who was eliminated on Wednesday, will be made after all legal proceedings are over, deputy prosecutor for Chechnya Alexander Nikitin told Interfax.

"By law we have the right to refuse to hand over the body. But we must wait till all legal proceedings are over," Nikitin said.

Chitigov was wanted by police for terrorist acts, attacks on federal troops, kidnappings for ransom, abduction and execution of foreigners, and attempting to make toxic substances.
