Russia won't interfere in Kyrgyz events - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Foreign Ministry has denied reports that Russia plans to interfere in the situation in Kyrgyzstan.

"Rumors have been circulated that Russia has plans to interfere in the situation in Kyrgyzstan, including through the use of the armed forces. The Russian Foreign Ministry states that such provocative rumors are groundless," the ministry said.

"In connection to this, we would like to draw everybody's attention to a statement made by representatives of the Coordinating Committee, which took on the functions of the government of the republic of Kyrgyzstan, that said Russia has always been a strategic partner and an ally for Kyrgyzstan," it said.
