MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's power engineering equipment giant Power Machines has signed a contract worth $270 million to supply equipment for India's Barh thermal power plant, a company press release says.
Power Machines signed a contract with India's National Thermal Power Corporation to build a three turn-key generating blocks equipped to produce 660 megawatts each for the Barh power plant.
Power Machines will do the design, building, delivery, installation and launch work. National Thermal Power Corporation will be paying.
The contract stipulates that the first generating unit will go into service 46 months from the contract date, and the second and third will be launched sequentially at six-month intervals.
Power Machines won the contract tender against Siemens and India's BHEL.
"The terms offered by our concern, worked out especially to Western standard size for thermal power equipment, proved preferable," the press release says.
