MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian police in Batumi continue to connive in the disorderly behavior near Russia's 12th Military Base, a source in the base's command told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.
"Another unpleasant incident occurred following a series of sanctioned and unsanctioned rallies and pickets in support of the base's withdrawal. Acting at dusk, an organized group of ruffians bombarded the area around the headquarters with jars filled with paint and fled," he said.
Incidents of the kind "have become more frequent of late, but the police react to our complaints very inertly," the source said.
"The Georgian police were immediately informed of this incident as well, but the hooligans have still not been identified or detained," he said.
