MOSCOW. April 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Security on the Korean peninsula and in the Asia-Pacific region as a whole, as well as military cooperation, will dominate the agenda of South Korean Defense Minister Yoon Kwang-woong's upcoming talks in Moscow, a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.
Yoon will visit Moscow from April 20 to 22, the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"Yoon Kwang-woong's talks with Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, scheduled for April 22, will address bilateral military cooperation and arms trade, as well as security problems at the Korean peninsula and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole," the spokesman said.
According to him, the date of Yoon's visit was set in March, when Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Yury Baluyevsky visited Seoul.
"In addition to military cooperation, the chief of staff and South Korean military leaders discussed issues related to Pyongyang's withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and its statement on possession of nuclear weapons," the spokesman said.
