Russia offering investment projects in high technologies – Putin

HANOVER. April 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Energy, rocket, ship-building, and optical electronic products are the main Russian items on display at the Hanover Fair, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Monday opening of the Fair's Russian pavilion.

Russia has been taking part in the Hanover Fair for years, "but this year Russia has a special status - we readily accepted the proposal of our German friends to be a partner country," Putin said. "We regard this status as the recognition of the high level of Russian industries, science and technologies."

Russia has things to offer at the Hanover Fair. "These are joint investment projects and cooperation in the development of advanced technologies," he said.

One hundred and thirty companies from Russia are displaying their products on nearly 7,000 square meters of space in Hanover, Putin said.

The Russian leader said he is sure that the Fair will help Russian firms to establish direct contacts with colleagues, sign new contracts and find good business partners.

Putin thanked German organizers and Russian participants for their work at the Fair.
