KHANKALA. April 13 (Interfax-AVN) - Four people suspected of membership in illegal armed groups have been detained in a series of special operations in Chechnya, spokesman for the federal forces in the North Caucasus Maj. Gen. Ilya Shabalkin told Interfax on Wednesday.
A man suspected of membership of a group led by Adam Malsagov was detained in Yandy in Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district. Searching his house, operatives found a Kalashnikov assault rifle and 150 cartridges for it and seized the weapons, Shabalkin said.
"Acting under the general command of Aslan Maskhadov, Malsagov's gang committed a number of terrorist attacks and other grave crimes against locals," he said.
"The bandit is currently testifying about his crimes and providing other important information that will help find and detain his accomplices," he said.
