North Korea's possession of nuclear arms still open

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax-AVN) - General Vladimir Dvorkin, former chief of the 4th Research and Development Institute of the Defense Ministry and a current military expert, doubts if North Korea possesses any nuclear weapons.

"Nuclear tests are the only unbiased proof of nuclear weapons existence. Pyongyang has not conducted any such tests," Dvorkin told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

That was his comment on the statement of the chairman of the Chinese Supreme People's Assembly Presidium that Pyongyang would boost its nuclear potential in response to Washington's aggressive policy.

He noted that the issue of North Korea's possession of nuclear arms, moreover so boosting its nuclear potential was still open. "In fact, if Pyongyang has enough enriched uranium and plutonium, it may be capable of developing nuclear arms," Dvokrin said.

"The only thing in this issue is doubtless: North Korea does want to possess nuclear arms," he emphasized.
