GROZNY. April 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Unidentified persons stole a machine-gun from a military helicopter, a source in Chechen law-enforcement agencies told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.
"It was established on Wednesday morning that unidentified criminals stole a PKS machine-gun and 500 7.62-mm cartridges from a helicopter at the aircraft parking area of a Border Guard Service unit in Khankala," the source said.
Military prosecutors are investigating the case, he stressed.
A blast and a shelling were registered in Chechnya on Wednesday, the source went on. An unidentified explosive device went off when a Zhiguli car was being examined at the riot police base of the Chechen Interior Ministry in the Leninsky district of Grozny. One policeman was killed by the blast, and three others were injured.
A group of servicemen engaged in a search and reconnaissance operation near the Arshty village in the Achkhoi-Martan district, the source said. One of the servicemen was wounded.
