MAKHACHKALA. April 22 (Interfax-AVN) - An explosive device attached to a tree in Dagestan's Makhachkala went off killing a pedestrian early on Friday.
The bomb which was planted near school No. 18 on Kazbekov Street detonated at 7:10 a.m. Moscow time (0310 GMT), a source with the Kirovsky district police told Interfax. The bomb was activated while a police bus was moving past it, a source who witnessed the incident said.
A pedestrian hit by the blast was taken to the Dagestani central emergency medical center but was pronounced dead on arrival, a center source told Interfax.
Investigators are working at the scene.
