MOSCOW. April 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 450 research and production organizations and enterprises from seven countries took part in the High Technologies of the 21st Century international forum that closed in Moscow Friday, an official of the organizing committee told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"About 400 Moscow-based research and industrial enterprises exhibited their products at the show. Apart from that, some 50 firms from 35 Russian regions and companies from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and Japan were among the participants," First Deputy Mayor of Moscow Yury Roslyak said.
According to him, about 50,000 guests visited the exhibition from Monday till Friday.
The following participants in the exhibition were the largest: the Tactical Missile Armament Corporation, the Moscow-based Salyut machine-building enterprise, the Fazotron-NIIR Corporation, the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft building association, the Motor Sich enterprise from Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine, and the Intermekh enterprise from Minsk, Belarus.
The program of the international conference that was organized in the framework of the forum included 20 plenary meetings and round tables to discuss burning problems of innovative and technical policy. Participants from 50 countries took part in the conference.
Russia's share in the world market of science consuming products is less than 1%. The conference discussed the measures to be taken to ensure more effective use of scientific and technical potential of the country in a bid to increase its involvement in such promising branches of industry like nuclear energy, IT and nano-technologies, electrooptics and new materials.
