ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 28 (Interfax-AVN) - About 250 terrorist acts were perpetrated in southern Russia last year, presidential envoy to the Southern federal district Dmitry Kozak said at a Russian-French seminar on crisis cooperation in Rostov-on-Don on Thursday.
"About 250 terrorist acts were perpetrated in southern Russia in 2004, including 214 in Chechnya," he said.
French Ambassador to Russia Jean Cadet, international experts, and representatives from the Dagestani State Council, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the Emergency Situations Ministry and officers from law enforcement departments in the Southern federal district and some CIS member countries are attending the seminar.
The some of the major topics being discussed at the seminar include, international cooperation in crisis management, prevention of crises, the role of governmental agencies in the crisis management, and cooperation with the media in crisis.
