MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow is determined to continue negotiations with Tbilisi on the conditions for the presence of the Russian military bases in Georgia and the dates for their withdrawal, Russian Foreign Ministry special ambassador Lev Mironov told Interfax on Thursday.
"The negotiations are underway. We intend to continue them in the near future," Mironov said while commenting on Georgian parliamentary speaker Nino Burjanadze's statement that Georgia is determined to fulfil its March 9 parliamentary resolution to unilaterally declare the Russian bases closed on May 15, pending their withdrawal.
"There is nothing surprising in this. This statement continues the policy pursued by Georgia. The decision against the presence of the Russian bases in Georgia was made earlier," he said.
