NALCHIK. May 19 (Interfax-South) - A cache containing ammunition and army uniforms has been discovered in Nalchik, the capital of Russia's internal republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.
Two RGD-5 grenades with fuses, 161 cartridges, three detonators and camouflage army uniforms were confiscated from the cache, which was found in a private house in the city's Alexandrovka neighborhood on Wednesday, a local Interior Ministry source told Interfax on Thursday.
Several reports suggest that the cache could have belonged to Yarmuk Wahhabi group leader Muslim Atayev, who was killed during a sweep operation in Nalchik in January. Atayev once lived in that house.
An investigation is underway.
