MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Kazakhstan has no plans to abolish conscription in the near future, Sapargali Zhagiparov, chief of the Kazakh Defense Ministry's press service, said on Wednesday.
"Conscription will remain," Zhagiparov told Interfax-Military News Agency.
At the same time, "65 percent of the country's armed forces are manned with contract servicemen, and their number will grow," he said.
