MOSCOW. May 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Following power outages in Moscow and several other parts of Russia, a criminal case has been opened against the leadership of Unified Energy Systems (UES).
"A criminal case of negligence was opened," a spokesman for the Prosecutor General's Office told Interfax on Wednesday.
Charges of abuse of power will also be brought against them, he said.
"The investigation will give a legal assessment of the actions of every UES executive, every official responsible for the stoppage in power supplies to the population and social facilities," the spokesman said.
The investigation should also evaluate the damaged caused by the mass blackouts.
