Lukashenko, Bordyuzha discuss situation in CSTO zone

MINSK. June 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko and Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha discussed the military-political situation in the CSTO zone and the agenda of the upcoming session of the Collective Security Council in Minsk on Thursday.

The CSTO foreign, defense and security council secretaries will meet in Moscow on June 22-23 and "the Collective Security Council would convene with the participation of six presidents [of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan]," Bordyuzha said.

The chiefs of state will discuss "the coordination of foreign polices and the improvement of military cooperation," he said. They will consider "a plan of the CSTO military development until the year 2010 and a five-year plan of the collective security system development," he said.

"The improvement of the collective rapid reaction forces and the expediency of a military group in Central Asia will be on the agenda," he said.

"Ways of drafting a common list of terrorist and extremist organizations will be also discussed," he said.
