PARIS. June 14 (Interfax-AVN) - The Ukrainian government and the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS) have signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
The signing ceremony took place at Paris Air Show 2005 in Le Bourget. It was attended by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko.
After the signing, Tymoshenko stressed that the government will set up "a small, but efficient working group" to implement the agreement as soon as possible.
"This is a very profound and very strategic document," the prime minister told reporters, stressing that it deals with cooperation in space and aircraft building.
Minister of Industrial Policy Volodymyr Shandra told reporters that a treaty on Ukrainian border accommodation may be signed in the framework of the agreement soon. Under the treaty, EADS is expected to provide the latest technical equipment for Ukrainian border guards.
