MOSCOW. June 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Azerbaijan should not be worried by the withdrawal of part of the military hardware from the Russian bases in Georgia to Armenia, Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Yury Baluyevsky said at a news briefing at the Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow.
"I already said that such a brief timeframe for the withdrawal of the Russian military bases from Georgia (by the end of 2008 - Interfax) could possibly require the redeployment of part of the hardware to Armenia for furnishing the 102nd base in Gyumri," Baluyevsky said.
"This hardware will not change the ratio of forces in the region under the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty and will not be a threat to the countries of the region," he said.
