Ingush militant convicted of terrorism

NAZRAN. Aug 9 (Interfax-South) - The Ingush Supreme Court has convicted a militant named Issa Gaporkhoyev and sentenced him to 15 years in prison on charges of terrorism.

Gaporkhoyev, 31, was involved in the bombing of a motor convoy near the Ingush village of Galashki in July 2003. He was found guilty of terrorism, murder, illegal possession of arms, explosives and explosive devices and arms trafficking, a court spokesman told Interfax.

"The trial has stated that Gaporkhoyev was a member of an illegal armed group.
