MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax-AVN) - NATO plans a number of events, involving experts from the Russian Defense Ministry, for September, NATO Information Bureau in Russia told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.
"On September 14-15 Edinburgh, the UK, will host the Senator 2005 exercise, involving experts on nuclear weapons from Russia-NATO Council member-states. Russian Defense Ministry experts have also been invited to participate in the exercise," it said.
In addition to that, on September 23-24 Kaliningrad will host a conference of Russian and NATO officials on regional security given traditional and nascent threats. The conference will see participation of diplomats from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Germany, as well as Russian Foreign and Defense Ministries officials, and leading experts on foreign relations from NATO member-states, Russia, and Ukraine.
The conference will discuss Russian-NATO cooperation in providing security in the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea.
In addition to that in September winners of contests from Russia and NATO states will visit the NATO headquarters in Brussels and the residence of the NATO Allied Forces Europe Commander.
