Russian, Armenian servicemen to hold joint exercise

TBILISI. Sept 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Servicemen of the Russian military force in Transcaucasia and the Armenian Armed Forces will take part in a planned joint exercise, a spokesman for the Russian force said on Monday.

"The exercise will take place in Armenia. It will begin on September 7 and last for six days," the spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"The exercise will have a very large scale. It will take place in accordance with the plan finalized by the two countries," he noted.

Major General Andrei Popov, commander of the Russian force, will travel to Armenia in connection with the exercise, the spokesman said.
