Moscow Military District to conduct demonstration regiment-size tactical exercise

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax-AVN) - On September 19-23 the Mulino joint arms firing range of the Moscow Military District, situated in the Nizhny Novgorod region, will host a demonstration regiment-size tactical exercise, the Moscow Military District press-service told Interfax-Military News Agency on Friday.

"The demonstration regiment-size tactical exercise will be supervised by Colonel General Vladimir Bakin, commander of the Moscow Military District. Russian military academies cadets and foreign military officials, attending the exercise, will be able to observe the live firing exercise, breaching a water obstacle, tactical missile launches, artillery fire, and air strikes," a press-service official said.

He pointed out that the exercise would involve units of the Vislenskaya permanent combat readiness motorized rifle division (commanding officer Colonel Sergei Lukashov), a tank regiment (commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Denis Davydov), and a motorized rifle regiment (commanding officer Colonel Nikolai Riznichenko), as well as combat support and combat service support units.

The press-service said that the exercise would demonstrate the methods, employed by a joint arms unit commanding officer in preparing for and conducting a joint arms battle, involving various assets attached. The exercise would be conducted by Major General Anatoly Zakharov, acting commander of the 22nd Army.
