Russia's Emergencies Ministry opens EU, NATO offices

MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry has opened offices at the European Union and NATO headquarters.

"In compliance with a resolution issued by the president of Russia, the Emergency Situations Ministry has opened representative offices at the European Union and NATO," director of the ministry's international department Yury Brazhnikov told journalists on Tuesday.

Vladimir Kuvshinov and Dmitry Lobanov have been appointed to head the ministry's EU and NATO offices, he said.

"A new page has been opened in the history of the foreign offices of Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry. It is a new stage in Russia's cooperation with these European structures," Brazhnikov said.
