GROZNY. Oct 18 (Interfax-AVN) - About 400 militants were neutralized in special operations in Chechnya in the first nine months of the year, Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov has said.
"During that period 247 militants were detained and 113 eliminated," he told Interfax on Tuesday.
"Ten militant leaders are among the detainees and 16 among those killed," he said.
In addition, 35 militants were persuaded to turn themselves in, Alkhanov said.
