YEREVAN. Nov 11 (Interfax-AVN) - NATO proposals to deploy its peacekeepers in the Nagorny Karabakh conflict zone could be accepted only if all parties concerned agree, Armenian Prime Minister Andronik Margaryan said.
"The OSCE Minsk group controls the Nagorny Karabakh settlement process, and all proposals should take this into consideration," the prime minister told journalists on Friday.
"And if, primarily, Nagorny Karabakh, Armenia and Azerbaijan decide to get a third party involved, that would be another case. And there is no point in discussing the issue without taking this into consideration," he said.
Margaryan said that Armenian military expenditures for 2006 are sufficient to guarantee the security of the country. He said that some $150 million have been allocated for this purpose, which is roughly equal to 15% of Armenia's budget, which amounts to about $1 billion.
