NALCHIK. Nov 13 (Interfax-AVN) - An Interior Ministry Forces serviceman was killed and another wounded in a sweep operation to eliminate a gunman in Kabardino-Balkaria on Sunday.
The dead serviceman has been named as Dmitry Kuznetsov, a policeman dispatched to Kabardino-Balkaria from the Volgograd region. His colleague was wounded in the operation.
The gunman, suspected of involvement in the October attack on Nalchik, was killed.
A spokesman for the republic's Interior Ministry told Interfax that the militant, Alim Tkhakakhov, had been hiding in a house in the village of Urvan.
