Policeman, two gunmen killed in Chechnya

GROZNY. Nov 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Two gunmen have been killed and another two detained in a sweep operation in the village of Raduzhnoye in Chechnya's Grozny rural district.

The militants have been identified, including one of the dead as warlord Daud Kaimov also known as the "One-Legged," and "Short", Chechen Interior Minister Ruslan Alkhanov told Interfax on Sunday.

Kaimov was appointed commander of a local armed criminal group after his predecessor Supyan Arsanukayev was killed in a sweep operation.

Zaindi Bikiyev has been named as the other dead gunman, Alkhanov said.

One policeman was killed and two others wounded in the operation.

Two Kalashnikov assault rifles, grenades, radios and an improvised bomb were discovered at the scene.

The operation was carried out by policemen and servicemen of the anti-terror center and other law enforcement agencies.
