Total of 13 ex-servicemen go on hunger strike in Krasnoyarsk Territory

KRASNOYARSK. Nov 24 (Interfax-AVN) - A total of 13 ex-servicemen of the Russian Defense Ministry have gone on hunger strike in the closed administrative area of Kedrovy in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Krasnoyarsk Interior Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

"Ex-servicemen demand living quarters in order to leave the former military garrison. They are staying at the apartment of one of the participants in the hunger strike," an official said.

The former military base of Kedrovy was part of the Strategic Missile Forces. The nuclear munitions storage base was dismantled there several years ago. Part of the servicemen, wishing to live elsewhere, have not been provided with living quarters so far.
