Extremist leader succumbs to wounds at hospital

MAKHACHKALA. Nov 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Leader of the Buinaksk criminal ring and active member of criminal armed groups and extremist underground leader Abdula Magomedov has died of wounds at a military hospital in Dagestan's Buinaksk district, where he had been held under tight security.

Magomedov was seriously wounded and arrested in a sweep operation by police on November 21.

Magomedov died on November 24 without regaining consciousness, the Dagestani Interior Ministry's press service told Interfax on Sunday.

Intelligence suggests that Magomedov was the owner of a weapons cache discovered at the Jewish cemetery in Buinaksk. An automatic tank grenade launcher, three handheld anti-tank grenade launchers, ten grenades, 28 rounds for a shoulder-fired grenade launcher and 1,080 cartridges were discovered in the cache.
