KYIV. Nov 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Savastopol Nakhimov Naval institute of Ukraine hosts a periodical training of officers aimed to inform them on NATO-led operations, their missions, organization and concepts, an official of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry press service told Interfax-Military News Agency Tuesday.
"The training is organized in fulfillment of the Defense Ministry's 2004-2007 action plan on preparing Ukrainian society for Euro-Atlantic integration. Representatives of the alliance are attending," he said.
He maintained that head of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine Michael Duray took part in the forum on Monday, and chairman of the NATO Liaison Office in Ukraine James Greene will meet the Ukrainian sailors on Tuesday.
The participants in the training will be briefed on concepts of operations conducted by multinational NATO forces, as well as on planning of crises management operations and peacekeeping exercises of the alliance. Also, logistics concerns and relations of military and political representatives of the alliance with mass media and civilian organizations will be discussed.
Ukrainian naval officers will take part in the videoconference with NATO headquarters, which is in plans of the forum.
